Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the system. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt.
Remove the relief valve that needs to be tested.Test Procedure
Install the relief valve into the 334-8103 Manifold .
Connect the manifold to the hydraulic test bench.
Slowly increase pressure. Record the pressure when the relief valve opens in Table 2 in "Worksheet". Make an adjustment to the relief valve, if necessary.Relief Valve Adjustments

Relief valve for the following head end of lift cylinders, head end of tilt cylinder, Rod end of ripper cylinders, Rod end of multipurpose bucket cylinders and Head end of ripper cylinders (9) Adjustment screw (10) Nut
Loosen locknut (10) . Maintain the position of adjustment screw (9) .
Turn adjustment screw (9) clockwise for an increase in the pressure setting. Turn adjustment screw (9) counterclockwise for a decrease in the pressure setting.
After screw (9) is turned for an adjustment, tighten locknut (10) to 12 N m (106 lb in). Perform the test procedure again.Note: Do not allow adjustment screw (9) to rotate when locknut (10) is tightened.Margin Relief Valve
Margin relief valve (3) is not adjustable. If margin relief valve (3) failed the test then margin relief valve (3) should be replaced.Dual Setting Relief Valve Adjustments

Dual setting relief valve for rod end of tilt cylinders and head end of multipurpose bucket cylinders (11) Adjustment nut (12) Shim
Turn adjustment nut (11) clockwise for an increase in the pressure setting. Turn adjustment nut (11) counterclockwise for a decrease in the pressure setting. Perform the test procedure again.Note: Adjust higher relief setting with shims (12) , as required. Each 0.127 mm (0.005 inch) shim (12) lowers the pressure setting by approximately 1834 kPa (266 psi).Worksheet
