Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
Remove the aftercooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove and Install".
Remove the refrigerant condenser. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Refrigerant Condenser - Remove and Install".Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1), (2), (3), and (4) under the hydraulic oil cooler.

Remove bolts (9), the spacers, and bolts (7) on each side of hydraulic oil cooler (8) .
Attach a suitable lifting device to the hydraulic oil cooler. The weight of the hydraulic oil cooler is approximately 38 kg (83 lb).
Remove bolts (6) on each side of the hydraulic oil cooler. Remove plate (5) and hydraulic oil cooler (8) from the bracket.Installation Procedure
Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the hydraulic oil cooler. The weight of the hydraulic oil cooler is approximately 38 kg (83 lb).

Place hydraulic oil cooler (8) in position in the bracket. Install plate (5) with bolts (6) on each side of the hydraulic oil cooler.
Install bolts (7), bolts (9), and the spacers to each side of the hydraulic oil cooler.
