At operating temperature, the engine cooling system is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the machine has stopped and the fill cap and radiator are cool enough to touch with the bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve the pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container. The capacity of the cooling system is 60 liters (16 U.S. gal). 1. Loosen clamps and reposition upper radiator tube (1). 2. Remove the lower radiator tube (not shown).3. Attach Tool (A), straps and a suitable lifting device to the radiator.4. Remove four bolts (2) and washers from each side of the radiator.5. Remove radiator (3). The weight of the radiator is 126 kg (280 lb.).
Be careful when removing the radiator to prevent damage to the oil coolers. Pull the drain hose up through the opening before removing the radiator.
Fan shroud (4) will also lift with the radiator. After the radiator has been installed, fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual, Form No. KEBU7014, for the correct procedure. For installation of the radiator, reverse the removal steps.End By:a. install hood assemblyb. install fan
