Information:

Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Turn ball valves (1) to the OFF position. Disconnect hoses (2) and drain the coolant from the heater core. Drain the coolant into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Remove covers (3) .

Disconnect harness assembly (6) from the air conditioner and heater assembly. Disconnect all hoses (7) from the air conditioner and heater assembly. Disconnect harness assembly (8) from the cab. Reposition harness assembly (8) and secure harness assembly (8) to the air conditioner and heater assembly.

Remove cover assemblies (9) , (10) , and (11) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to air conditioner and heater assembly (15) . The weight of air conditioner and heater assembly (15) is approximately 181 kg (400 lb).
Disconnect harness assembly (18) . Remove bolts (16) and bolts (17) . Remove air conditioner and heater assembly (15) .Installation Procedure
Install air conditioner and heater assembly (15) in the reverse order of removal.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant Level - Check" for the correct coolant level.
