Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the DEF tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank - Remove and Install.
Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery.First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable.A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire.

Remove negative cable assembly (2) from battery (4).
Remove positive cable assembly (1) from battery (4).
Loosen the two nuts. Remove battery hold down (3) and battery (4).

Remove the four bolts, the four washers, and plate assembly (5).

Remove negative cable assembly (9) from battery (8).
Remove positive cable assembly (7) from battery (8).
Loosen the two nuts. Remove battery hold down (6) and battery (8).Installation Procedure
Install batteries (8) and (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nuts on battery hold downs (6) and (3) to a torque of 8 1 N m (71 9 lb in).
Tighten negative terminals (9) and (2) to a torque of 7.2 1.6 N m (64 14 lb in).
Tighten positive terminals (7) and (1) to a torque of 7.2 1.6 N m (64 14 lb in).End By:
Install the DEF tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank - Remove and Install.
