HARNESS AS 3282101 - Caterpillar

Problem
The fine control, swing priority and travel solenoid valves mounted on top of the pilot manifold may fail due to water entry. See the attached performance problems which may result from a failed solenoid valve. The solenoids have been improved to prevent water entry. See Illustration 1.

Potential Performance Problems
Rework Procedure
1. Disconnect each of the three solenoid wires. See Illustration 2.
Illustration 22. Using a multimeter, check the resistance in each of the three coils. the resistance should be between 40 and 60 ohms. See Illustration 3.
Illustration 33. If the coil resistance in any of the solenoid valves is not between 40 and 60 ohms, that solenoid valve(s) needs to be replaced. Remove only the failed solenoid valve(s) and replace it with the new solenoid valve(s) shown in the following chart. Replace the entire solenoid valve, not just the coil. The new solenoid coil is not interchangeable with the former coil.
