This operation was done on an earlier machine.start by:a) separation of track 1. Remove grab iron assembly (1) and step assembly (2). 2. Put a 50 ton screw jack under the equalizer bar as shown. Lift the front idler frame. 3. Remove cover (3). Remove the oil from the recoil spring compartment with a suction type pump if possible.4. Remove eight bolts (4) and cover (5) on each side of the idler frame. Remove the O-ring seal from each cover. 5. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts and remove guide (6) from each side of the roller frame.6. Fasten a hoist to the front idler frame as shown. 7. Install tool (A) from the front roller frame to a stationary object. Use the hoist and tool (A) and remove front roller frame (7) from the rear roller frame. The weight of the front roller frame is 8500 lb. (3825 kg).Install Front Roller Frame

Make sure not to damage seals in the front of the rear roller frame when the front roller frame is installed.
1. Put lubricant on the seals in the front of the rear roller frame. Fasten a hoist and put the front roller frame in position as shown. Slide front roller frame (1) into the rear roller frame. 2. Install tooling (A), one under each side of the front roller frame, as shown. Do the guide and cover on the inside of the roller frame first for easier installation. 3. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts in guide (2). Make an alignment of the groove in the front roller frame with the guide with tooling (A). Install guide (2) in the roller frame. 4. Install O-ring seal (3) on the cover. Install cover (4) on the roller frame.5. Remove tooling (A) and the jack under the equalizer bar.6. Fill the recoil spring compartment and recoil bearing compartment with lubricant to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. 7. Install cover (5).
