(3PR) Off-Highway TrucksDescription of Change: A new basic turbocharger group is used on the 3508 Engines in these trucks. The new turbocharger group includes stronger bolts between the compressor back plate and the bearing housing. The use of the stronger bolts will increase the turbocharger service life.Adaptable To: The new 172-0913 Basic Turbocharger Group is a direct replacement for the former 126-1085 Basic Turbocharger Group on the 3508 Engines in these trucks. The former basic turbocharger group is canceled. The new 172-0913 Basic Turbocharger Group is effective with 3508B (2GR1692-Up) Engines in these trucks. The new stronger bolts are also effective with 3508B (2GR1692-Up) Engines in these trucks. The new basic turbocharger group and stronger bolts are also effective with Remanufactured 3508B (5XS172-Up) Engines. Some 126-1085 Basic Turbocharger Groups were built with the stronger bolts between the compressor back plate and the bearing housing before this basic turbocharger group was canceled and replaced by the new 172-0913 Basic Turbocharger Group. These 126-1085 Basic Turbocharger Groups have a serial number beginning with "BIL", "BJL", "BKL", "BLL", "CAL", or "CBL".
