Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Check the condition of the gaskets and the O-rings. If the gaskets or the O-rings are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Place the O-ring seals (17) in position on the unit injector hydraulic pump drive (13).
Lightly lubricate the bore of the front housing and the seal on the unit injector hydraulic pump drive with clean engine oil.
Put unit injector hydraulic pump drive (13) in position on the front housing.

Install two bottom bolts (15).
Install four mounting bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 5 3 N m (4 2 lb ft).
Install locating pin (16) and the seal. Tighten locating pin (16) to a torque of 105 10 N m (77 7 lb ft).
Tighten mounting bolts (15) again to a torque of 55 7 N m (41 5 lb ft).

Note: With the number one piston of the engine at top center, the timing marks on the front gear group can be aligned. Align the timing marks on gear (9) with the marks on the camshaft gear. The alignment of the timing marks is shown in illustration 4.
Put gear (9) in position on the hydraulic pump drive. Install retainer plate (11) with four bolts (10). Tighten the four bolts to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
Install two timing sensors (12) in the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install".

Install clip (8), the washer, and the nut.
Connect the connector for the turbocharger outlet pressure sensor (6). Connect atmospheric pressure sensor connector (7).
Connect hose assemblies (5), (4), and (2) with the O-ring seals. Install wire tie (3) in order to secure the wiring.

Install the unit injector hydraulic pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Unit Injector Hydraulic Pump - Install".
Install the front cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front Cover - Install".
