Illustration 1. Location of the components required to install the valve and siphon tube between the air line and governor.1. Fabricate bracket (1) from 5.0 mm (.20") thick mild steel as shown in Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Dimensions for fabricated bracket.2. Use 5P7981 Elbow and 51 mm (2.0") of 3/16" O.D. copper tube to fabricate special siphon fitting (2). a. Drill a 4.76 mm (.187") diameter hole, 10.0 mm (.39") deep in the end of the elbow that has the 7/16"-20 thread.b. Slip the tube into the hole that was drilled in Step 2a. See Illustration 3. Solder the tube in position in the elbow.c. Cut the tube to the length shown in Illustration 3. Be sure the tube is not too long. If it extends too far into the governor, it could prevent the engine from returning to low idle.
Illustration 3. Special siphon fitting.3. Remove the air line from the governor. Remove the fitting from the governor where the air line was attached. Install the special siphon fitting fabricated in Step 2.4. Install elbow (4) in one side port of valve assembly (5) and plug (9) in the other side port as shown in Illustration 1. Install elbow (10) in the top port of the valve assembly as shown in Illustration 1.5. Install valve assembly (5) on fabricated bracket (1) with two bolts (6), two washers (7) and two nuts (8).6. Fasten fabricated bracket (1) to the governor with two bolts (6) and two washers (7). See Illustration 1.7. Install hose assembly (3) between special siphon fitting (2) and elbow (4) on the valve assembly.8. Connect the air line that was removed from the governor (in Step 3) to elbow (10) on top of the valve assembly.9. Start the engine and check the engine response.
