PROBLEM
The existing rear axle housing may crack at one of the differential carrier bolt holes on certain 777F Off-Highway Trucks. If the axle housing cracks it can cause oil to leak and the bolts to loosen.

ACTION REQUIRED
Fabricate and install stiffner plates to the rear axle housing as described in Special Instruction, REHS5089, "Procedure for the Field Installation of Stiffener Plates on the Rear Axle Housing Assembly on the 777F Off-Highway Truck". Install new bolts, washers, and spacers to secure the differential assembly and improve the durability of the bolted joint.
