SAFETY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR REWORKING THE JACKET WATER TO AFTERCOOLER LINE

Dear Cat Product Owner:
The water line tube needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing tube can move within the 390-7470 Elbow and result in a coolant leak and result in a risk of personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated.

Rework Procedure
1. Drain jacket water coolant into suitable container.
2. Remove all brackets and fasteners to disassemble the existing tube 375-7973 and elbow 390-7470 from between the straight coupling assembly 216-2285 and water pump flange. Do not remove the water pump flange.
3. Install new elbow 446-0380 onto existing water pump flange (image 1.3.1). Install 388-6443 ring (1) and o-ring 8t-1919 (2) to new tube 446-0378 and insert tube into elbow with new flange 388-3917. Install new gaskets 127-4230 into straight coupler 216-2285.

4. Reinstall all mounting clips and fasteners. Secure all components once reassembled.

5. Refill the jacket water system and test for leaks.
