At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill plug only when the engine is stopped and when the fill plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hands. Allow the engine to cool before disconnecting any hydraulic lines.
Identify all hydraulic lines as they are removed for reinstallation purposes. Cap and plug all lines and fittings to prevent any contaminants from entering the hydraulic system.
Perform this operation on smooth, level ground. Block the drums to prevent any possible movement of the machine. Install the steering lock pin to prevent any pivot movement. Any movement of the machine while preforming this operation can cause serious personal injury or death.
1. Block the drums securely and install the steering lock pin.2. Remove two hydraulic lines (1). Use tool (A) to remove the retaining ring from the top of pin (2). Remove bolt, washer and stop (3). Remove pin (2). 3. Remove bolt, washer and stop (4). Use tool (A) to remove retaining ring (7) from pin (5). Remove pin (5).4. Remove the cylinder. Retain bushings (6) for installation of the cylinder. To install steer cylinder, reverse the removal steps.
