HARNESS AS-WIRING 3758407 - Caterpillar

The self test verifies that the ARC is operating properly. When the key is switched from On to Off the ARC performs an automatic self test. The internal circuits and the display are automatically checked. The operator must observe the display in order to determine if the ARC is operating properly. The length of time that is needed for a self test is approximately five seconds. During the self test, the ARC will perform the following functions.
Control indicator (2) flashes once at the beginning of the self test. The control indicator (2) should now be off. If the control indicator (2) is on any other time during the self test, the ARC is faulty.
Indicators (1), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), and (10) are on at the beginning of the self test. When the readout (9) displays "-0-" the indicator will begin the normal operation and the status of the corresponding conditions will be shown.
Readout (9) will show the sequence that follows:
"XXX" is a three digit number that is used by the factory in order to identify the internal circuits.
"XX" is a two digit number that is used by the factory in order to further identify the internal circuit.
"888" is a test that is used in order to test all the segments of readout (9) .
"-0-" is the mode number for the normal display mode (mode 0).
"083" is the module identifier (MID) that is used for the ARC. The MID identifies the ARC to other electronic controls on the data link.
"XXX" is a machine code. The machine code is a three digit representation of the harness code. The machine code must match the sales model.
