After assembly, lubricate the mating surface from ring to liner with clean engine oil.
After all piston rings have been installed, rotate the piston rings so that the end gaps are separated by 120 degrees.

Thickness of the new piston ring is 2.97 to 2.99 mm (0.117 to 0.118 inch).
Clearance of the ends when assembled in a new cylinder liner of bore 170 mm (6.7 inch) is 1.70 0.15 mm (0.067 0.006 inch).
Increase in clearance for each 0.03 mm (0.001 inch) increase in the cylinder liner bore is 0.09 mm (0.004 inch).

Length is 101.7 to 102.0 mm (4.00 to 4.02 inch).
Bore diameter in the piston for the piston pin is 70.0705 0.0075 mm (2.75867 0.00030 inch).
5 1 479-6734 Piston Before assembly of the rings, lubricate the ring groove with engine oil.
Before assembly, lubricate the piston pin, the piston pin bore, the connecting rod eye, and the connecting rod pin bearing with clean engine oil.
6 2 253-1238 Pin Retainer Install the pin retainer with the gap toward the top of the piston.
Thickness is 2.36 0.08 mm (0.093 0.003 inch).
Thoroughly lubricate the entire
