When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Make sure that the sealing surfaces of the seals and of the equalizer bar are smooth and clean.

Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (7).

Use Tooling (B) to install bearing (9) until the bearing contacts retaining ring (7). Make sure that bearing (9) is oriented square to the bore before you apply pressure with Tooling (B).
Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (7) in the equalizer bar.
Apply Tooling (E) to the outside surface of seals (8). Use Tooling (D) to install seals (8) in the equalizer bar.
Repeat Steps 2 through 5 on the other end of the equalizer bar.

Place center bearing (10) in position. Make sure that bearing (10) is oriented square to the bore before you apply pressure.

Use Tooling (F) to install two bearings (9) even with the front of the equalizer bar. Note: You must adjust Tooling (F) several times during the installation of the center bearing.Note: The seals for the center pin are different sizes. Make sure that the seals are installed in the correct bores.

Apply Tooling (E) to the outside surface of seals (6).
Use Tooling (D) to install seals (6).

Install the equalizer bar.
