Transmission oil pump (4) is a two-section gear type pump. Transmission oil pump (4) supplies oil to the transmission hydraulic system. One section of transmission oil pump (4) pulls oil from oil sump (17) . The other section of transmission oil pump (4) is a scavenge section. This section pulls oil from the oil sump for torque converter (3) in order to return the oil to oil sump (17) . The oil from oil sump (17) flows through the suction screen and magnet (16) . Oil is supplied to the pump inlet through hose (20) . Pressurized oil exits the pump outlet and flows to transmission oil filter (1) . Oil then flows to modulating valves for the impeller clutch (8) , modulating valves for the lockup clutch (7) , and modulating valves for the transmission clutches (10-15) .
