HARNESS AS-CAB 3941904 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the floor plate (1) from over the steering gear.2. Disconnect the linkage from the pedal and plate assembly (3). Remove the bolts that fasten pedal and plate assembly to the frame. Remove pedal and plate assembly (3).3. Disconnect the linkage from the steering column. Remove clamp (2) that fastens the steering column to the dash. Remove the bolts that fasten steering column to the steering gear.4. Remove the steering column. 5. Disconnect linkage (7) for the steering control valve from steering valve. Remove the sector shaft nut (4) and lever (6).6. Fasten a hoist to the steering gear. Remove the bolts that fasten the steering gear to the support bracket. Remove steering gear (5). Weight of steering gear is 90 lb. (41 kg).Install Steering Gear
1. Fasten a hoist and put the steering gear into position. Install the bolts that fasten the steering gear to the support bracket. 2. Install lever (1) and nut (4). Tighten the nut (4) to 450 25 lb.ft. (62,2 3,4 mkg).3. Connect the steering control valve linkage (3) to the steering valve.4. Put the steering column in position on the steering gear, and install the bolts (2) that fasten steering column to steering gear.5. Install the clamp that fastens steering column to dash.6. Connect linkage to the steering column.7. Put the pedal and plate assembly into position, and install the fastening bolts. Connect the linkage to the pedal and plate assembly. Install the floor plate.
