Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from any machines that are working and any personnel.
Move the transmission control to the P position. Fully raise the dump body of the truck.
Stop the engine.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Either keep other personnel away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator.
Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Install the retaining pin for the dump body.Test Procedure
Be certain the torque converter oil (SAE 30 W) is below 30° C (86° F). Do not warm the torque converter oil.

Install Tooling (A) onto pressure tap (2) .

Note: Make sure that the area is clear of all personnel. Note: The drive wheels must not turn during a stall test. Note: If the brakes do not keep the machine from moving, put the machine against a solid object that will not move.
Start and run the machine at low idle. Apply the service brakes. Depress button (3) and button (4) on the transmission control lever at the same time. Move the transmission control lever into the R position. Note: The buttons can now be released and the parking brake will remain on.Note: A stall test can also be performed in FIRST.
Slowly increase the engine rpm to the maximum governor setting. The machine will try to move.Note: The engine rpm must be 1590 65 rpm with the torque converter in a stall condition.
Record the pressure from tooling (A) in Table 1
Do not keep the torque converter in a stall condition for long periods of time. Damage could occur in the torque converter, the engine, and the brakes.
When this test is complete, move the transmission control in P. Stop the engine. Remove the test equipment.Adjustment Procedure

The high idle rpm and the inlet pressure are correct but the stall speed is too high.
