Remove the stick.
When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Lower the boom to the ground. Release the system hydraulic pressure.

Disconnect hose assemblies (4). Attach a suitable lifting device to boom cylinder (6). The weight of boom cylinder (6) is approximately 185 kg (400 lb). Disconnect grease hose assembly (2). Remove plate (3). Drive pin (5) toward boom (1). Reposition boom cylinder (6) onto Tooling (A).

Remove pin (7) and the boom cylinder. Repeat for opposite boom cylinder.

Disconnect hose assemblies (8) and (10). Disconnect harness assembly (9).

Remove panel (11) and step (12). Remove plate (13).

Install Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto pin (14). Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to boom (1). The weight of boom (1) is approximately 1815 kg (4000 lb). Remove pin (14). Remove boom (1). Installation Procedure
Install boom (1) in the reverse order of removal.
