Generator Rotating Field Removal And Installation
1. Remove the generator, generator drive, the belts and belt guard, the generator pulley and the rear bearing. The bearing (3), and the brush yoke and holder (2) need not be removed at this time.
PREPARING TO REMOVE ROTATING FIELD
1. Armature windings. 2. Brush yoke and holder. 3. Bearing. 4. Field pole. 5. Wires.2. Mark and disconnect the wires (5) from the brushes.3. Place a pipe (6) over the rear of the rotating field shaft (7) and using a hoist at the front, as illustrated, remove the rotating field assembly from the generator.
Remove the rotating field assembly with great care so that the field poles (4) will not damage the armature windings (1).

4. Field poles. 6. Pipe. 7. Shaft.4. Inspect all parts for wear or damage and install in the reverse order of removal.
