Install tapered plug (15) into modulating valve assembly (1) , if the tapered plug was removed from the modulating valve assembly at disassembly.Note: Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the threads before installing the plug.

Install the following items into modulating valve assembly (1) :
Pin (9)
Spring (10)
Spring (11)
Spring (12)
Accumulator valve (13)
O-ring seal (7)
Install plug (14) into modulating valve assembly (1) .
Repeat Step 3 for the components under the plug (8) on the modulating valve assembly (1) .

Install the following items into modulating valve assembly (1) :
Spool (3)
Spring (4)
O-ring seal (5)
Install plug (6) into modulating valve assembly (1) .
Repeat Step 6 for the components under plug (2) on the modulating valve assembly.Installation of the Control Valve

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install Tooling (A) into torque converter housing (3) and install gasket (6) .

Install modulating valve assembly (5) and install gasket (4) .

Place control valve assembly (2) in position. Then install seven mounting bolts (1) that secure the control valve to the torque converter housing.

Remove Tooling (A) and install two mounting bolts (1) that secure control valve (2) to converter housing (3) .Installation of the Charge Pump

( 1 ) Make Tooling (A) from a suitable bolt.
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install Tooling (A) into torque converter housing (3) . Then install gasket (4) and charge pump (2) .
Install the mounting bolts, which secure charge pump (2) to torque converter housing (3) .

Remove Tooling (A) and then install two mounting bolts (1) that secure charge pump (2) to torque converter housing (3) .End By: Install the turbine and impeller assemblies. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter - Assemble".
