Selector and Pressure Control Valve (1) Tank port. (2) Shims. (3) Spring. (4) Valve stem. (5) Input port. (6) Output port. (7) Plug.The selector and pressure control valve limits the supplied pressure from the primary steering pump or from the secondary steering pump. The selector and pressure control valve limits the supplied pilot pressure to the steering pilot control valve. Pilot oil flows in input port (5). When spring (3) and valve stem (4) are equally pressurized, hydraulic oil is allowed to pass. The pilot oil flows through output port (6) to the steering pilot control valve.When the force of spring (3) is less than the hydraulic pressure, valve stem (4) will shift. When the valve stem shifts, hydraulic flow is cut off. The position of valve stem (4) regulates the pressure to the steering pilot control valve.Note: The selector and pressure control valve pressure setting can be adjusted.Reference: For more information on adjusting the selector and pressure control valve, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Pilot Valve (Steering) Supply Pressure - Test and Adjust" for the correct procedure.
