Removal Procedure
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin.Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the engine oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.

Remove bolts (3), bolts (2), and clamp assembly (1).
Remove bolts (5) and elbow (4).

Remove bolts (6), bolts (8), and clamp assembly (7).
Remove bolt (9) and disconnect hose assembly (10).

Remove bolts (12) and tee (11).

Attach a suitable lifting device to remove engine oil pump (14).
Remove bolts (15), bolts (13) and engine oil pump (14). The weight of engine oil pump (14) is approximately 86 kg (190 lb). Installation Procedure
Install engine oil pump (14) in the reverse order of removal.
Lubricate the seals of engine oil pump (14), tee (11), and elbow (4) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
