COMPONENT FEATURES
146-6692 Water Separator And Fuel Filter (10 micron) Group
This filter has a 10 micron rating. It operates in series with the secondary fuel filter. Under normal conditions, the filter element will provide the standard 250 hour service interval. The water separator has a "see-through" bowl with a "self-vent" drain for water. The water separator is sized to be adequate for the fuel flow at any 3116 or 3126 rating. Additional options available for this water separator and fuel filter group follow:
* 147-1231 Water Level Indicator.* 147-1227 Bowl with 12 volt fuel heater element. * 147-1229 Bowl with 24 volt fuel heater element.* 147-1230 Seal Kit (to replace seals damaged during element or bowl replacement.7W-5668 (24 volt) Or 7C-9748 (12 Volt) Fuel Pump Assembly
These electric fuel pumps are polarity sensitive. Care must be taken to connect the brown wire from the pump to engine positive (+) and the black wire from the pump to engine negative (-). The pump must be energized ALL THE TIME the engine is running. The pump can be connected in parallel with an energized to run (ETR) fuel shut-off solenoid (be careful with polarity). When connected in parallel with the fuel shut-off solenoid, the fuel system can easily be primed after a filter change, by just turning the key switch to the ON position for approximately one minute.
If a latching solenoid is used, a separate electrical circuit must be considered to supply the electric fuel pump. And additional switch must then be used to operate the priming feature. A 10 amp fuse and 14 to 16 gauge wire are recommended for connecting the electric fuel pump. The electric fuel pump must be mounted rigidly in the fuel lines. The priming feature is important
