Movement of the machine could result in death or personal injury. Shut the engine OFF. Tag the machine controls. Switch the main battery disconnect OFF before starting work.
The rotor assembly drum can be hot enough to cause serious burns, let the rotor assembly drum cool before removing bits.
1. Remove bit (3).2. Cut bit holder (2) free of the block.3. Remove the bit holder.4. Grind the surface of the holder mounting block (1) smooth. The following steps are for the installation of the new bit holder.5. Position new bit holder (2) the same as the other bit holders.6. Slide the bit holder onto dowels (4) so the bit holder is flush with the block.7. Weld the bit holder to holder mounting block (1).8. Install rotor bit (3). The welding process used should be CO-2 shielded flux cored arc welding using a .052 E7OT-1 electrode and electrode positive polarity. The contact tip to work distance should be 1", gas flow set at 30-40 CFH, voltage at 28V, and amperage at 280A. Two passes. Connect the auxiliary rotor drive motor to the rotor shaft and rotate the rotor assembly to change the bit holders.
