Changing the Tamper System Status
Note: The Tamper system status can be changed in VisionLink only and cannot be changed from Cat ET.Status Definitions:Disable - Prevents engine start.Normal Operation - Machine performs as normal.

In VisionLink Administrator, click the "Manage Asset Configurations" link under the "Asset Settings" section.

Use the drop-down box to select the desired telematics device type.

Use the search bar to search for the desired asset. Click the check mark on the left-hand side of the asset icon to select the asset.

Click the triple dot icon in the upper right-hand side of the page and click "Configure".

Use the drop-down box to select "Asset Security".

Select "Disable" or "Normal Operation" under "Security Status" and click "Save".

The message in green above will appear to confirm that the command to disable or return to normal operation has been sent to the machine.Troubleshooting

Event becomes active when the machine receives the remote disable command (Level 1, 2, and 3).

1639–9 Machine Security System Module: Abnormal Update Rate Product Link ECM has been disconnected from the J1939 Datalink. Reconnect to clear code.
1888–3 Local GPS Antenna: Voltage Above Normal GPS antenna has been disconnected from the Product Link ECM. Reconnect to clear code.

Symptom Procedure
Tamper Does Not Install - ET (Security System Tamper Resistant Configuration parameter will not change to the set level) If MSS is installed, verify that the machine supports both MSS and Tamper to be installed at the same time: If the machine supports Bluetooth Operator ID (Bluetooth key or Bluetooth mobile app) it will support both MSS and Tamper. If unsure, check the machine operation manual operator login section to see if Bluetooth entry is covered. If the machine does not support Bluetooth Operator ID, it will not support both MSS and Tamper.
