The sight gauge for the oil tank is mounted on the oil tank on the right side of the machine. Maintain the oil level to the midpoint of the upper region of the sight gauge. Add oil, if necessary.Note: Do not maintain the oil level above the midpoint of the upper region. Otherwise, oil can spill from the top of the tank.

Oil Tank (1) Breaker relief valve. (2) Coupling. (3) Toggle switch.
Remove breaker relief valve (1). Clean breaker relief valve (1) in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Install breaker relief valve (1) .
Disconnect hose from coupling (2) .Flush the Hydrostatic System
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
After removal and installation of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic tank, and/or supply lines to the pumps, the hydraulic pumps must be primed. Failure to prime the hydraulic pumps can damage the pumps. After work is performed on the hydraulic system or power train/hydrostatic transmission, the cases of both of the drive pumps must be filled with oil before starting the machine.
Throughout the entire procedure, ensure that the power train oil tank is filled to the recommended capacity. Ensure that the power train pump and the power train motor are filled to capacity prior to flushing the hydrostatic system. Ensure that the oil cooler is filled to capacity prior to flushing the hydrostatic system.

Loosen fitting (4) and fitting (5) that are located on the oil coolers. Do not completely remove the fittings.
Allow air in the oil coolers to purge out of fitting (4) and fitting (5) .
Tighten fitting (4) and fitting (5) .
