Test Boom Cylinder Drift
Start the engine.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder (close bucket).
Fully retract the stick cylinder (stick out).
Raise the boom until the upper surface of the boom at the stick end becomes parallel to the ground. Stop the engine.
Leave the machine in this position for three minutes.
Measure the boom cylinder drift. The drift rate of the boom cylinder should be less than .002 meter per minute (0.08 inch per minute).Test for Lowering the Boom Manually
Boom load may cause cylinder oil pressure to reach relief pressure of the boom lowering control device when the boom is supported by one cylinder. Boom can lower suddenly.Be sure no one is under or near the implements before manually lowering the boom.Keep all personnel away from the boom drop area when lowering the boom with the engine stopped.
