Install the following tools in accordance with the flow meter tool layout and the circuit diagram. Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2.
Remove pilot line (7) from elbow (8) at the pilot filter.
Install seal (6) and cap (9) to the open end of elbow (8) .
Assemble and install seal (6), connector (5), seal (4), connector (3), seal (2) and nipple assembly (1) to pilot line (7) .

Disconnect makeup line (22) from connector (21) at swing motor (23) .
Assemble and install seals (18), tee (20), elbow (19), coupling (17), seal (2) and nipple assembly (1) to connector (21) at swing motor (23) .
Install seal (18), elbow (29) and makeup line (22) to tee (20) .
Remove 311-1362 Vacuum Cap and install the filler plug for the hydraulic tank.
Connect portable hydraulic tester (16) and the test hoses between nipple assembly (1) at pilot line (7) and nipple assembly (1) at swing motor (23) .
To prevent personal injury or equipment damage from failure of the hydraulic test equipment or associated circuit components because of blocked pump flow, make sure that the test equipment valves are fully open before starting the engine.
Start the engine.
Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "10" and AEC switch OFF. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Performance - Test (Engine Speed)" for engine rpm settings.
Place the hydraulic activation control lever in the UNLOCKED position.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).

Slowly turn valve (28) on portable hydraulic tester (16) clockwise until the pressure gauge on the portable hydraulic tester shows a reading of 4100 kPa (595 psi).
Use 1U-6602 Photo Tach to read the engine speed.
Record the pilot pump flow and the engine speed at 4100 kPa (595 psi) in Table 1.
