Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Place the steering control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.

Verify that the bolt and washer are removed from location (1) on the counterweight frame and stored properly in the block indicated in illustration 2.
Extend the counterweight approximately 30.5 cm (12 inch).
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement lockout switch is in the UNLOCKED position.
Move the thumb rocker for the counterweight control to the extend position. The counterweight should move outward to the neutral position.
Move all hydraulic controls through all positions in order to relieve hydraulic pressure. Repeat this step until all hydraulic pressure is released. This procedure should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.

Remove plate (2) by removing the bolts at location (3) in order to access the test ports on the rear of the machine.

(CB) Charge pump pressure test port
Attach Tooling (A) to test port (CB). Test port (CB) is located on the rear of the machine under the fuel tank.Test Procedure
Start the engine. Warm the hydraulic oil to a minimum temperature of 65° C (150° F).
Operate the engine at HIGH IDLE. Make sure that the steering control lever is in the NEUTRAL position.
Record the pressure at test port (CB). The charge pump discharge pressure should be 4000 350 kPa (580 50 psi).
If the charge pressure is not within the specified limit, perform the adjustment procedure in "Adjustment Procedure".Adjustment Procedure
Remove the floorplate in the operator station.

Loosen locknut (4) while you hold adjustment screw (5) in place.
Turn adjustment screw (5) clockwise in order to increase the charge
