Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.
Illustration 7 g00936936 (1) Use Tooling (C) in order to install bearing (1). Install bearing 10 0.30 mm (0.4 0.012 inch) below the surface of the cylinder. (2) Torque for locknut 1500 100 N m (1100 75 lb ft) Note: Lubricate the face and threads before assembly. (3) Use Tooling (E) in order to install bearing (1). Install bearing 10 0.30 mm (0.4 0.012 inch) below the surface of the cylinder. (4) Lubricate the inside diameter and the outside diameter of the rings and the seal with clean grease. (5) Lubricate the sealing lip slightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. Installation Procedure

Use two suitable lifting devices in order to install fore boom cylinder (12). The weight of fore boom cylinder (12) is approximately 250 kg (550 lb). Apply Tooling (G) onto pin assembly (14). Install pin assembly (14). Install bolt (13). Tighten bolt (13) to a torque of 325 40 N m (240 30 lb ft). Note: The lateral clearance for the fore boom cylinder must be a maximum of 0.80 mm (0.032 inch).

Use a suitable lifting device in order to position fore boom cylinder (8). Position shims (10) and spacers (9). Apply Tooling (G) onto pin assembly (6). Install pin assembly (6). Install bolt (5). Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 325 40 N m (240 30 lb ft). Connect grease hose assembly (7). Note: The lateral clearance for the fore boom cylinder must be a maximum of 0.80 mm (0.032 inch).
