1. Apply a thin layer of SAE 10W oil on each side of the parts.2. Put poppet (2) and spring (1) in position in spool (3). 3. Put retainer (4) in position in spool (3) and install spiral lock (5) to hold it. 4. Put the spacers and spring (7) in position in spool (3). Put spool (3) in position in body (6).Reference: To determine the correct amount of spacers behind spring (7), refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) Pressure - Test and Adjust" for the machine that is being serviced. 5. Put the O-ring seal and cover (8) in position on body (6). Install the washers and bolts that hold the cover in position. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 48 7 N m (35 5 lb ft).6. Put the O-ring seal and cover (9) in position on body (6). Install the washers and bolts that hold the cover in position. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 48 7 N m (35 5 lb ft).7. Put O-ring seals (10) in position on body (6), as shown. End By:a. Install the torque converter outlet relief valve.
