Information:

1. Remove two bolts (3) from each stop (1). Remove the stops from the track roller frame.2. Fasten a hoist around recoil spring (2). Remove the recoil spring from the track roller frame. The weight of the recoil spring is 300 lb. (135 kg).Install Recoil Spring
1. Fasten a hoist to recoil spring (1) and put it in position in the track roller frame. 2. Install two stops (2) and the bolts that hold it.end by:a) install hydraulic track adjustersDisassemble Recoil Springs
start by:a) remove recoil springs
The recoil spring is assembled with a force of several tons. The correct tooling and procedure must be used during disassembly and assembly of the recoil spring. Take note that the recoil spring does not twist in the tooling and come out. If the recoil spring should come out of the tooling, personal injury could result.
1. Disassemble the recoil spring with tooling (A) as follows: a) Fasten a hoist to the recoil spring. Put the recoil spring in position between plates (1) and (3). Put the center of the pilots (6) and (7) in alignment with the centers of plates (1) and (3). Move the hydraulic cylinder enough to hold the recoil spring in position.b) Make an adjustment to nuts (5) so the distance between plates (1) and (3) are the same at each of the three legs (2).c) Turn nuts (8) until there is a distance of 1 in. (25.4 mm) between nuts (8) and plate (4).
The distance between the plates must be the same at each leg at all times so the recoil spring does not twist and come out of tooling (A) and cause personal injury.
d) Put the recoil spring under enough compression to remove nut (9). Remove the nut.e) Slowly release the compression on the recoil spring.f) Turn nuts (5) and move plate (4) and the cylinder away from the recoil spring. Put the spring under compression. Turn nuts (8) until they are 1 in. (25.4 mm) from plate (4). Slowly release the compression on the recoil spring.g) Follow Steps e and f until the recoil spring is no longer under compression. 2. Fasten a hoist to the spring. Remove spring (11). Weight of the spring is 160 lb. (72 kg). Remove pilots (6) and (7). Remove sleeve (10) and bolt (12) from tooling (A).Assemble Recoil Springs
The recoil spring must be assembled with a force of several tons. The correct tooling and procedure must be used during assembly of the recoil spring.
