Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove nut (2), the washers, and the bolt. Remove bolt (3) and plate (1) .

Use a suitable ratchet in tensioner (7) to remove belt (8) from tensioner (7) .
Remove bolts (4) and (6) from belt guard (5) .

Disconnect harness assembly (11) and cable assembly (12) from alternator (10) .
Remove nut (9), the bolt, and the washers from the top of alternator (10). Remove belt guard (5) and belt (8) .
Remove bolt (13) and alternator (10) .Installation Procedure

Install alternator (10) and bolt (13) .
Install belt (8) and belt guard (5). Install the bolt, the washers, and nut (9) to the top of alternator (10).
Connect cable assembly (12) and harness assembly (11) to alternator (10) .

Install bolts (6) and (4) to belt guard (5) .
Use a suitable ratchet in tensioner (7) in order to install belt (8) to tensioner (7) .

Install plate (1) and bolt (3). Install the bolt, the washers, and nut (2) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.End By: Install the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
