The Special Instruction, REHS1385, "Introduction of New 3408E and 3412E Hydraulic Electronic Unit Injectors" has been updated. The Special Instruction reflects the updated software part numbers and the updated Interlock Codes that are necessary for the conversion to the current injectors.The new software reduces the potential for lockup of the ECM. The old software may cause the ECM to lockup if the ECM has been flashed several times.Note: If an ECM does lockup during a flash with the former software, the dealer can call the Engine ECM Hotline at 1-877-598-8920. The analyst can help the dealer unlock the ECM.This Special Instruction is available through the normal literature distribution system. This Special Instruction can also be found on the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
