Problem
The former head gasket has not provided satisfactory service life in some applications. A new 7W2059 Gasket is now used in production. The new gasket has increased fire ring projection above the gasket body material and increased overlap of the fire ring wrapper.

Parts Needed
1 - 6V4876 Molykote Paste Lubricant 1 - Appropriate gasket kit (contains 2- 7W2059 Head Gaskets). Some gasket kits in dealer parts stock may not contain the 7W2059 Gasket. If so, 2 - 7W2059 Gaskets must be ordered separately. Remanufactured head groups should be used by U.S. and Canadian dealers if resurfacing of the cylinder head is needed. Action Required
Parts Stock Remove all 4W45 Gaskets from parts stock. Affected Product Action is required only after there has been a failure of the head gasket. If a failure occurs, replace both head gaskets. Install the new parts according to the procedures in Special Instruction SEHS8612-01. See attached. After the new gaskets have been installed, stamp "HG" in the upper right corner of the engine information plate which is on the valve cover. WARRANTY ALLOWANCES Submit one claim at your cost for all 4W45 Gaskets removed from parts stock. (SEE ILLUSTRATION) List the new parts on the claim. If there is consequential damage, include an explanation of the extent of the damage and the repairs made. No credit will be allowed for parts replaced or reconditioned due to normal wear or overhaul practices.
