Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the platforms. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Operator Platform - Remove".
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" for the machine that is being serviced.Note: If only one steering cylinder is being removed, easier access can be obtained by articulating the machine prior to removal.Note: For the purpose of photographic clarity, the hydraulic tank, the fuel tank and the platforms have been removed. The tanks do not need to be removed in order to remove the steering cylinder.
Block all four wheels. Apply the parking brake.
Disconnect the batteries. Place the electrical disconnect switch in the "OFF" position.

Support the steering cylinder, as shown.

Remove four bolts (1) and flange (2). Disconnect hose assembly (3). Plug the hose assembly.
Disconnect the grease line and tube assembly (4) .
Remove bolt (5) and washer (6) from pin assembly (7) .

Remove bolt (9), washer (10), plate (8) and spacer (11) from pin assembly (7). Remove pin assembly (7) .

Remove bolt (12), washer (13) and pin assembly (14). Remove steering cylinder (15). The weight of the steering cylinder is 73 kg (160 lb).
