B     1P-0808     Multipurpose Grease        Note: This procedure is applicable when the oscillating axle is installed in the machine and when the oscillating axle is removed from the machine. If the oscillating axle is removed from the machine, stop after Step 9.

Fasten rear differential and bevel gear (12) to a suitable floor jack.
Install the O-ring seal on the carrier. Put clean hydraulic oil on the seal.

Place the rear differential and bevel gear in position in the rear axle housing. Install bolts (11) and the washers that attach the rear differential to the axle housing. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 130 30 N m (95 22 lb ft). Each bolt should then be turned an additional 120 degrees 10 degrees.
Install the alignment dowels in the front support. The dowels should extend 55.6 1.5 mm (2.19 0.06 inch) above the outside surface of the front support.

Install sleeve bearing (9) in the front support. Sleeve bearing (9) should make contact with the counterbore in the front support.
Install two O-ring seals (10) in the front support. Apply a thin coat of Tooling (B) on O-ring seals (10) and sleeve bearing (9) .
Install the gasket and the retainer on the front support. Install the washers and the bolts that hold the retainer in position.

Fasten a suitable floor jack (8) to front support (7). Install the front support on the rear differential.
Install bolts (6), the washers, and the nuts that hold the front support to the rear main frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 1125 100 N m (830 75 lb ft).
Connect tube assembly (5) to the grease fitting. The grease fitting is located on the top of the front support.

Install bolts (4) in the junction blocks. The junction blocks are located on each side of the rear main frame.

Install yoke assembly (3) on the rear differential. Yoke assembly (3) is a slip fit.

Use Tooling (A) in order to lower the machine to the floor.End By:
Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Rear) - Remove and Install".
Install the drive axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install".
