Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to prevent contaminants from entering the system.Note: The following procedure illustrates the removal of the right front suspension cylinder, wheel and brake. This procedure may also be used for removal of the opposite side.
Install suitable wheel chocks on rear wheels.

Position Tooling (A) under the front of the frame assembly.
Remove the appropriate front tire and rim. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Remove and Install".
Release all nitrogen pressure from the suspension cylinder. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, RENR2584, "Suspension Cylinder (Front) - Purge and Charge".

Position a suitable container under magnetic plug (1) . Remove the magnetic plug and the O-ring seal. Drain the oil from the front wheel. The approximate amount of oil in the front wheel is 60 L (16 US gal).

Remove bolt (2) in order to disconnect hose assembly (5) . Disconnect hose assembly (5) from the wheel.
Remove bolt (3) in order to disconnect hose assembly (4) . Disconnect hose assembly (4) from the wheel.Note: Properly support steering arm (6) in order to avoid damage to the components.Note: Do not use an impact wrench with Tooling (C) .
Use Tooling (C) in order to remove bolts (7) . Disconnect steering arm (6) .

Remove bolts (10) in order to disconnect hose assembly (8) .
Remove the O-ring seal and position hose assembly (8) out of the way.
Remove bolts (11) in order to disconnect hose assembly (9) .
Remove the O-ring seal and position hose assembly (9) out of the way.

Disconnect hose assembly (13) and remove breather (12) .

Remove bolts (14) in order to remove tube assembly (15) .
Remove the O-ring seals and tube assembly (15) .

Disconnect hose assembly (16) from the housing assembly.

Disconnect wire harness (18) from sensor (17) at the electrical connection.

Position Tooling (B) onto a suitable lift truck, as shown. Secure Tooling (B) to suspension cylinder, brake and front wheel (21) .
Remove bolts (19) . Discard the bolts.
Remove bolts (20) . Discard the bolts.

Remove the suspension cylinder, the brake and front wheel (21) as a unit from the frame assembly. The weight of suspension cylinder, brake and front wheel is approximately 8000 kg (17637 lb).

Remove key (22) from the frame assembly.
