The new procedure will prevent the spindle bolts from breaking or from becoming loose.Adaptable To: The new torque turn procedure is effective with 797 (S/N: 5YW251-UP) Off-Highway Truck. The new torque turn procedure is adaptable to 797 (S/N: 5YW1-250) Off-Highway Truck.Refer to the following procedure:Note: New bolts are recommended with this procedure.
Tighten all of the bolts to a torque of 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft).
Repeat Step 1 in order to ensure that all of the bolts are evenly tightened to a torque of 1200 100 N m (885 74 lb ft).
Rotate each bolt by an additional 90 5 degrees.Note: Bolts that have been torque turned should not be reused.
