Replace all gaskets and check all seals for serviceability.
Install the transmission onto Tooling (A).
Note the location of the transmission wiring harness and any associated brackets and set to the side.

Remove bolts (1), the washers, and the clips. Mark the location of the clips.
Remove torque converter housing (2) and the gasket. Discard the gasket.

Remove bolts (3) and the washers. Remove pump (4).
Inspect the pump for any wear or damage. Refer to "Reuse and Salvage Guidelines" , (CX38 Transmission Pump Inspection Guideline) for the correct inspection procedure.Note: Failure to inspect the pump may result in future pump failure.

Remove bolts (5) and the washers. Note the location of bolts (5). Remove cover (7) and the gasket. Discard the gasket.
