Machine Functions
The following functions are fixed when the machine is in backup mode. The functions cannot be altered by changing the switch positions.Note: When the machine is in Backup Mode these results will occur:The oscillating axle will be unlocked unless the brake pedal is in the fully depressed position. and The implements will be unlocked.
The travel alarm will sound for 10 seconds when the machine begins to move. The alarm will shut off automatically after 10 seconds.
The hydraulic lockout will not be active.
The parking brake will be released.
The oscillating axle will not be locked unless the service brake pedal is fully depressed and locked, or if the left console is in the raised position.
The first gear is engaged.
The travel lock cannot be enabled.
Travel is always enabled.
The electric refueling pump is disabled.
The engine can always be started. (This is true regardless of the position of the left console.)
Creeper speed is disabled.
The hydraulic system is set to Economy Mode.
The Automatic Engine Control is disabled.
The ride control function is disabled
The hydraulic cab riser function is disabled. The cab can only be lowered by using the manual cab lowering valve.
Smart boom function is disabled.
Joystick steering function is disabled
The automatic service brake function is disabledManual Backup
If the performance of the machine does not change, refer to the following steps.
Stop the engine.
Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Lockout Control"
Open the left front access door. Secure the access door.

Five solenoids that are mounted on the pilot manifold control the following machine functions or components:
(1) Oscillating Axle
(2) Swing Brake
(3) Heavy Lift
(4) Travel Lockout
(5) Hydraulic Lockout
(6) Transmission Lockout
Adjust the appropriate solenoid. The manual backup screws on the solenoids allow the operator to put the solenoids into the energized state. In order to place the solenoids into the energized state, screw in the solenoids. The individual solenoid will remain in this state until the operator turns out the screw. The following table displays the condition of the function or component for each solenoid:
