(B) Flex line heat insulationThe waterline elbow may fail on the machines listed above. The failure is due to the flex line heat insulation (B) and elbow (A) come in contact with each other.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. In the event of failure, replace the failed part with the same part number.Note: Adjust heat insulation to provide maximum clearance between elbow (A) and heat insulation (B).Take a picture of the failed elbow before and after removing from the machine and communicate failure information through DSN. Create a Service Information Management System (SIMS) entry for the failed component to generate a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request. An SIB request will be issued through the SIB process after the SIMS entry is created. Submit the failed component along with any other available information to SIMS referencing the CPI number.
