Start the engine. Adjust the boom cylinder in order to position the end of the stick to the proper distance from the hard, level surface. The distance between the end of the stick and the hard, level surface should be equal to the distance between the bottom of the counterweight and the hard, level surface. This distance is approximately 1030 mm (40.5 inch). Stop the engine.Note: Do not lower the boom after Tooling (D) has been installed in the place of the right hand boom cylinder.
Adjust the length of Tooling (D) and install Tooling (D) in place of the right hand boom cylinder. Be sure to use six bolts, six washers and six nuts in order to hold Tooling (D) together. The weight of Tooling (D) is 284 kg (626 lb).

Adjust the height of Tooling (B) so that Tooling (B) can be installed under the end of the stick, as shown. Make sure that Tooling (B) is centered under the end of the stick.

Install Tooling (C) under the main frame at the rear of the machine, as shown.
Remove 32 bolts (8) that secure the upper structure to the undercarriage frame assembly.
Install four M24 guide bolts in the upper structure. Install the four guide bolts with 90 degree angles between the bolts. Install the guide bolts through the swing gear and bearing into the upper structure.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns.To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this manual.
Drain the oil from the hydraulic oil tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 150 L (40 US gal).

Remove bolts (11) and two cover assemblies (12) and (13) from the underside of the undercarriage frame assembly.

Put identification marks on eight hose assemblies (14) for installation purposes. Disconnect the eight hose assemblies from the bottom of the swivel joint. Put plugs in the ends of the hose assemblies in order to prevent oil loss and keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.
Remove tee (17) from the swivel joint. Remove tee (15) from the swivel joint.
Cover the ports in the bottom of swivel joint with tape in order to keep contaminants out of the swivel joint.
Remove bolts (16) from the swivel joint.

Note: It is important to keep upper structure (18) level when the upper structure is being removed from the undercarriage frame assembly. If the upper structure is not kept level, binding of pinion shaft (19)
