To prevent possible personal injury, release all the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are disconnected.
1. Remove bolts (1), and swing access panel (2) back from the left side of the cab.2. Put identification marks on hoses (5) for correct installation. Disconnect them from the hand metering pump.3. Remove bolts (3) and hand metering pump (4) from the floor plate. Use the reverse procedures of Steps 1 through 3 for installation of the hand metering pump.Disassemble Hand Metering Pump
START BY:a. remove hand metering pump 1. Remove bolts (1) and adapter (2) from pump body (3). 2. Put identification marks on all parts for correct assembly.3. Remove fittings (4), check valve (6) and plug (5) from the pump body. 4. Remove bolts (8) that hold cap (7) and the gerotor to pump body (3). 5. Remove cover (7), gerotor (11), drive (10) and spacer (9) from pump body (3).6. Remove O-ring seals (12) and (13) from pump body (3), gerotor (11) and cover (7). 7. Remove sleeve (14) from pump body (3). 8. Remove pin (17) and spool (15) from sleeve (14).9. Remove springs (16) from spool (15). 10. Remove ring (18), bushing (19), O-ring seal (20), race (21), bearing (22) and race (23) from pump body (3). 11. Remove seals (24) and (25) from bushing (19). 12. Remove plug (26) from the pump body. 13. Use a 10-32 screw (27) to remove seat (28). Remove ball (30) and retainer (29) from the pump body.14. Remove O-ring seals (31) from seat (28).Assemble Hand Metering Pump
1. Inspect and make a replacement of all parts of the hand metering pump that are worn or damaged. 2. Install O-ring seals (3) on seat (2).3. Install the retainer and the ball. Use a 10-32 screw (1) to install seat (2) in pump body (4).4. Install the plug in pump body (4) to a torque of 11.3 N m (100 lb.in.). Make sure the plug is even with or below the pump body surface after it is tightened. 5. Use tool group (A), and install lip-type seal (5) in bushing (7). Make sure the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the pump as shown.6. Install seal (6) in bushing (7). 7. Install six springs (9) in spool (8) with three springs on each side. Make sure the curves of the springs are in contact and in the center of the spool. 8. Install spool (8) in sleeve (10). Make sure the ends of springs (9) are engaged in the notch (slot) of sleeve (10).9. Install pin (11) in the sleeve and the spool. 10. Install sleeve (10) in pump body (4) as shown. 11. Put O-ring seal (13) and spacer (12) in position on the pump body as shown. 12. Install drive (14) in the pump body. Make sure the notch (slot) in the drive is engaged with pin (11). 13. Put O-ring seal (15) in position on gerotor (16).14. Install gerotor (16) on the pump body. Make sure
