Accessing Calibrations
Connect Cat® ET to the Steering ECM. After communication has been established, Cat® ET will list the electronic control modules that are on the machine. Choose the menu item "Steering ECM". Select the drop-down menu that is called "Service". Then, select the "Calibration" function. The list of calibrations will appear.

Once the specific calibration is selected, the Cat® ET display will guide you through the calibration procedure.The Cat® ET display will list initial machine conditions that must be satisfied before the ECM will allow the calibration procedure to continue. Follow the specific instructions on the display to complete the calibration procedure.Note: Turn the Key switch to the off position after any calibration. The calibration may not be flagged if the key switch is not cycled.Position Sensor (Steering Cylinder) - Calibration
Cat® ET is required for the calibration of the "Arm Steering System" solenoid. The screen shots included in this section of the manual are to be used as a guide for the process.

Locate the available control modules within Cat® ET. Expand the options under "Steering ECM". Select the "Steering Cylinder Position Sensor" option. Click "START" in the lower left corner of the screen.

The conditions required to begin the calibration are listed in Cat® ET.
(1.) Cylinder parameters must be programmed prior to performing this calibration.
(2.) Engine must be running and set to high idle.
(3.) Parking brake must be released.
(4.) Place machine in Manual steering mode.
(5.) Machine must be positioned so that it can be driven in a straight line on a smooth surface for at least several hundred yards.
(6.) After all conditions are satisfied click "NEXT" at the bottom left corner of the screen to begin.

The operator is instructed to maintain a speed of 10 km/h (7 mph) while driving the machine. Continue to operate the machine until a window appears on the screen indicating that the calibration is successful.
