789 ( 9ZC ) TrucksA new windshield wiper repair kit and lubricant are available for the windshield wiper motors on the above machines. The new repair kit includes four body seals, two piston seals, two bearings, a container of lubricant, and a valve assembly. The new lubricant can be used to remove the drag caused by dry seals inside the windshield wiper motor.
The new 8X1152 Repair Kit can be used to repair the 5T8177 and 5T8555 Wiper Motor Groups used on the above machines. The new 8X1153 Lubricant can also be used in those motor groups.
Use the 8X1153 Lubricant as follows. Inject approximately 30 mL (1 oz) of lubricant into the air lines as close as possible to the wiper motor. Remove the arm from the motor. Run the wiper motor for approximately 15 minutes to allow the lubricant to work through the valve. This procedure should be repeated at six month intervals. Do NOT inject oil or penetrating fluid into the wiper motor.
