Transmission (1) Main shaft (2) Slider gear (3) Shift bar (4) Drive gear and shaft (5) Bushed gear (6) Countershaft gear and shaftWhen shift bar (3) is moved forward from NEUTRAL to HIGH, main shaft sliding gear (2) locks main shaft (1) to drive gear and shaft (4). Power is transferred directly through the transmission with no reduction in speed. Note: The transmission is shown in the NEUTRAL position.When the shift bar (3) is in NEUTRAL position, main shaft (1) is not locked into any gear. Main shaft sliding gear (2) is in the center position between drive gear and shaft (4) and bushed gear (5). This allows no power to be transferred through the transmission.When shift bar (3) is moved backward from NEUTRAL to LOW, sliding gear (2) locks bushed gear (5) to main shaft (1). Power is transmitted from the drive gear and shaft (4) through countershaft (6) through bushed gear (5) to main shaft (1). The gearing reduces the main shaft speed to low speed.Shear Disc

(1) Slip half (2) Shear bolt (3) Universal joint (4) Slip yoke (5) Universal joint (6) Rotor axle drive flange (7) Splined hubSplined hub (7) is meshed with the rotor drive transmission. Shear bolt (2) bolts the two halves of slip half (1) together. All the torque must be transmitted through bolt (2). The bolt is present in order to prevent damage to the rotor drive components. Rotor drive axle flange (6) is mounted by a locknut that secures the flange to the rotor drive axle. The rotor drive axle flange has universal joint (5) that is mounted to the flange with the slip yoke in order to provide a drive line between the shear disc and the rotor drive axle.
