The former bolt had an approximate nominal diameter of 9 mm (.35 in), while the new bolt has an approximate nominal diameter of 9.8 mm (.39 in). An undersized bolt can cause belt misalignment, eventual bolt loosening, and subsequent vibrational wear to the bolt, bracket, and compressor ears. Retightening of the bolt after vibrational wear has taken place can cause compressor ear breakage due to excessive clearances. See the Reference Article for additional information.Adaptable To: A 4Y-6353 Bolt replaces the 8T-5436 Bolt effective with the Challenger 35 (8DN625), Challenger 45 (1DR1399), and Challenger 55 (7DM662) Agricultural Tractors. The improved bolt is adaptable to all earlier machines.
